Brent Engelhardt
Director At Large
My name is Brent Engelhardt. I have been involved with CGA since around 2000.
I started out as a spectator. My wife however, has been an active member since
CGA first fired up back in the seventies. I know it may seem that I am sort
of a "newbie", but I have covered a lot of ground in that time.
I started riding in 2002 and have been rated as Champion a few times. Somewhere
in there I earned my judge's card and now it seems I spend more time with a
tape in my hand than I do with a set of reins. But I do enjoy the responsibility.
On my off duty CGA time I am an active duty United States Marine, so I guess
it would only make sense that I like to be in charge!
Keeping CGA a safe,
fun
family I have been fortunate enough to be the understudy of some
fantastic Master Judges who have helped me fill the position of arena manager
at CGA State sponsored shows, such as the Spring Classic. And for the last two
years I have worked as one of the Arena Managers at the
State Championships
at Bolado Park in Hollister, CA. This most recent year I was groomed by
Stan Janssen
to be the overall Show Manager for the 2007-2008 State Show. A huge responsibility,
but I think I am up to the challenge.
I am proud to announce that during the recent elections I was fortunate enough
to be re-elected to serve for another 2 year term as one of YOUR Board of Directors.
I claim District 19, Riverside County Mounted Mavericks as my home club. However,
as a member of the board I would be more than happy to try and answer any questions
you might have and likewise it would be my honor to assist you in bringing any
issues or concerns you might have in front of either of the Governing Bodies
of CGA. Or if you just want to talk "horse stuff", give me a call.
My vision for CGA and where I would like to see it go is UP! I feel that this
association is ready for the next level of organization and competition, and
I believe the majority of it's members feel the same way. I would like to see
CGA work it's way to the "big time" in regards to larger more attractive venues
like the Sin City Shoot Out that I am sure some of you heard about at the State
Show this last year. If you didn't let me know and I will get the info for you.
I believe we can bring our level of professionalism and competition to another
level while still fostering that family type atmosphere that CGA has always
been so proud of. It will just take some active members and strong representatives.
Both of which I believe CGA already possesses.
If there is anything I can do for you, if you have any questions at all or would
just like to shoot the breeze, please feel free to contact me at:

Grit yer teeth and ride hard!
