Dogs at Southern Spring Classic 2008

Important Notice

Yellow Ribbon

The 2008 Spring Classic will be held at the Camp Pendleton Marine Base in Oceanside, California on Friday 23 May through Monday 26 May 2008. All participants and visitors to Spring Classic are expected to abide by the Camp Pendleton Rules and Regulations.

This is especially important with regard to dogs.

Camp Pendleton has a very strict policy regarding loose dogs. The Marine Corps is very serious with regard to enforcement of this policy.

There are to be absolutely no loose dogs on the Base at any time.

Consideration Respect Honor The Military Police will apprehend and transport any loose dog to the on-base kennel, the owners will be fined, and CGA will run the risk of having the entire Spring Classic show shut down and all participants escorted off the base.

A loose dog is defined by the Military as any dog:
  • Not attached by a leash to a human or other stationary object
  • Not confined in a cage, trailer, vehicle, &c.
If a dog is dragging its leash on the ground, the Military considers this a loose dog.
If a dog running loose in your camp or around your horses it is still a loose dog.

The Military Police will be patrolling the grounds on a regular basis, day and night. These are United States Marines and other members of the U.S. Armed Forces; they take their jobs VERY seriously.

Make new friends and enjoy the rideIf you own a dog which cannot be kept on a leash or kept confined, or you simply do not want to leash or confine your dog, it is requested and strongly suggested that you do NOT bring the dog to Spring Classic.
