The State Championship Show is held every summer, and signifies the last of the current CGA season. Any rider rated at least at the Future Champion level may ride at State Show. This is where everybody comes to compete, including the best of the best, during a week long series of shows and activities. Bring your campers and bring your families, 'cause there's something to do for everyone.

All 13 events are run at State Show. The 16 fastest riders in each event run very exciting Match races in the evenings, where the riders are 'sold' in a Calcutta auction. Match race winners split the pot with the buyer. Class winners in every event, every division, win a silver buckle! Medallions are given out to 10th place in every class. Every High Point winner in every division at State Show wins a barrel saddle. That's 21 barrel saddles given out at each State Show! The end of State Championship Show marks the beginning of the new season.

Wazzup!!
Jamboree is March 26 - 28, 2010 in the North at Ceres, hosted by District 2!!! Be ready to shake off winter and herald in Spring! Hope to see everyone there with your horses ready to go!

          bullet    State Awards Convention

Date:
Location:
November 21, 2009
Radisson Hotel, Fresno

You rode hard all year. Now it's time to pick up your awards at the nicest annual Awards banquet in the State. CGA members come together to honor each individual rider and their achievements this past season. Ladies, if you want to wear those beautiful dresses and gowns to dinner, this is the night for glamour!! Hall of Fame recipients give their speeches throughout the night. Vote on board members, rules changes, etc., earlier in the day. This is also the time to meet other CGA folks, because CGA families will fill the hotel and huge auditorium!

You must submit your dinner reservations and payment in advance to State Office. This will ensure your stay for dinner, and that your awards are also at Convention waiting to go home with you. Be sure to make hotel reservations well in advance. CGA reserves a block of rooms at a reduced rate for CGA members. But when the block of rooms is gone, the price could change! If you do not pick up your awards at Convention, then you must make arrangements to have the award shipped to you.

But that's the fun of everybody getting together for a weekend in March to ride, chat, camp out, laugh about the hairy horses, pick up those needed times for your year end awards, and have a good time! Requests and applications to host the Jamboree must be submitted to State Office. District clubs may group together as co-hosts.
